Compromise agreement on a mandatory Transparency register
A compromise package for the interinstitutional agreement on a mandatory Transparency register, reached on 15 December 2020.
The package consists of the agreed text of:
- A new interinstitutional agreement on a mandatory Transparency register
- the accompanying joint political statement by the 3 institutions.
The agreement took effect in 2021.

Review process and outcomes
A review of the interinstitutional agreement was held 2 years after the register's launch, which recommended a number of improvements.
The revised interinstitutional agreement was adopted and applied between 1 January 1015 and 30 June 2021.
Previous versions of interinstitutional agreements
- 2014 interinstitutional agreement on a transparency register (replaced by the 2021 agreement)
- 2011 interinstitutional agreement on a transparency register (replaced by the 2014 agreement).
